Laila Rice was born in 1996 and over the years we have been on a very exciting journey, growing our business and range to serve our customer’s needs. Here are just a few of the milestones and highlights of our exciting journey…

1996

The Laila concept is born with the first 20kg bags of Laila Basmati Rice leaving the Harwich mill, bound for London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bradford.

1998

In response to growing demand, Laila introduces new 5kg and10kg bags to the marketplace.

2002

Laila Rice launches its first TV advertising campaign in the UK.

2005

Laila extends its portfolio to include a range of premium chapatti flours.

2007

A big year for Laila Rice as we achieve listings in both Asda and Tesco, making the Laila brand accessible to thousands more customers across the UK.

2010

Laila launches the Rice for Life campaign to raise funds for the Pakistan Flood Appeal in association with the Red Cross.

2011

Always looking for new audiences and to meet customer demand, Laila introduces a range of delicious pastes and pickles to complement our rice and atta brands.

2012

Laila undergoes a facelift, with the introduction of new vibrant packaging and brand identity.
