Ingredients

  • 400ml water
  • 200 grams LAILA BASMATI RICE
  • 85 grams raisins
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 225ml unsweetened soya milk
  • 60 grams toasted and chopped almonds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

Method

  • In a medium saucepan bring water to a boil. Add Laila Basmati rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 minutes, or until rice is tender.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine cooked rice, raisins, honey, soya milk, almonds, cinnamon and cardamom. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Immediately reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, until thickened about 5 to 8 minutes. Spoon into bowls and serve.
