GAJAR KA HALWA

Method

  1. Rinse, peel and grate the carrots. Chop the nuts (almonds and pistachios) finely.
  2. Put the water to boil; after it starts boiling, add in the grated carrots. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add the milk and cardamom powder. Cook on a low flame for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add ghee, sugar, raisins and mix well. Cook till the sugar has dissolved and all the milk has been absorbed.
  5. Garnish with nuts and serve piping hot gajar ka halwa.

  • 1 kg carrots
  • 1 ltr milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • ¾ cup of water
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp almonds
  • 2 tbsp pistachios
  • 450 grams sugar
